The Council of Heads of Government of the CIS discussed energy and transport issues in an expanded format

During the Council of Governments of the CIS meeting, they discussed the draft Concept of cooperation in the energy field, the Plan of priority measures for its implementation, and the Action Plan for optimizing infrastructure and developing international transport corridors passing through the territories of the CIS member states.

They emphasized the importance of using high technologies in various sectors of the economy to improve technological processes, develop the production base, and promote knowledge-intensive and technologically advanced industries. This will lead to the production of goods with high added value, increased reliability and controllability of equipment and infrastructure, and the diversification of the economy as a whole.

The meeting highlighted the need for more coordinated and multilateral interaction among CIS member states in the field of innovative energy development. They also stressed the importance of developing mechanisms for cooperation and coordination of government programs, national projects, and initiatives in this area.

Furthermore, they underscored the significance of developing and implementing an agreed system of legal, economic, organizational, and other measures to ensure the sustainable and safe functioning of the transport complex when transporting passengers and goods in international traffic.

The meeting also recognized the successful functioning of specialized cooperation bodies in the CIS, such as the Council on Railway Transport of the Commonwealth Member States, the Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers, the Council on Aviation and the Use of Airspace, the Interstate Aviation Committee, and the Coordination Transport Meeting.

Finally, the meeting resulted in the adoption of several documents regarding cooperation in the field of healthcare, the chemical industry, hazardous waste management, and combating violations in the field of intellectual property.
