Turkmenistan students achieved strong results at the international competition “IWISE Global Final London 2026”, held in London, United Kingdom. The Turkmen delegation won 6 gold and 4 silver medals at the event, which took place from August 2 to 7 and brought together students from 25 countries around the world.
Turkmenistan was represented by 10 students selected from schools in different cities across the country. The team was led by Myrat Sahetgulyyev, an informatics teacher at the 1st Specialized Educational and Training Complex in Arkadag, and Gochmyrat Bayramov, a history teacher at Specialized Secondary School No. 97 with advanced language studies in Ashgabat.
During the competition, the participants demonstrated their knowledge and practical skills across several key areas of robotics. The Turkmen students competed in Line Follower Robot, Maze Solving Robot and Mini-Sumo Robot categories, achieving strong results.
Following all stages of the competition, the Turkmen team secured 10 awards – 6 gold and 4 silver medals. The result highlights the strong preparation of Turkmen schoolchildren in robotics and modern technologies at an international level.
The gold medals were won by Resulberdi Orazberdiyev, Salyh Kakalyyev and Resul Geldiyev, students of Specialized Secondary School No. 97 in Ashgabat; Selim Begmuradov, a student of Secondary School No. 7 in Ashgabat; Nurmyrat Kulov, a student of Specialized Secondary School No. 87 in Ashgabat; and Mälikmyrat Annamuradow, a student of the 1st Specialized Military School named after Berdimuhamet Annaýew under the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan.
The silver medals went to Salyh Altyyev, a student of Specialized Secondary School No. 97 in Ashgabat; Rozymyrat Ýagşymyradow, a student of Specialized Secondary School No. 13 specializing in foreign languages in Ashgabat; Ebubekir Berdiyev, a student of Specialized Secondary School No. 3 in Arkadag; and Umyt Atamyradow, a student of Specialized Secondary School No. 2 in Arkadag.
A notable achievement was the recognition of five members of the Turkmen team with the honorary title “Best of the Best” for their outstanding performance. They were also presented with special cash prizes.
Participation in the international competition in London gave the Turkmen students an opportunity not only to demonstrate their knowledge and technical skills, but also to gain international experience by interacting with young participants from different countries. Competitions in rapidly developing fields such as robotics contribute to the development of technical thinking, creativity and practical problem-solving skills.
The strong international result achieved by Turkmen schoolchildren is one of the indicators of the effectiveness of the modern educational environment being developed in the country for the younger generation, as well as the comprehensive support provided to young talents. At the same time, such achievements demonstrate growing student interest in digital technologies, robotics and innovative solutions.
