The 31st International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026” (OGT 2026) opened in Ashgabat on October 21, 2026. Held under the theme “Energy. Cooperation. Development.”, the international forum will run through October 23.
More than 1,700 participants representing 450 companies from 75 countries have been confirmed. The forum has brought together government representatives, executives of national and international energy companies, investors, representatives of financial and technology organisations, and industry experts.

The conference agenda focuses on the development of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector, attracting international investment, and expanding cooperation in the energy industry. Participants are discussing the further development of the Galkynysh gas field, the implementation of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, the expansion of gas transportation infrastructure, and opportunities in Turkmenistan’s sector of the Caspian Sea.
Other key topics include the deep processing of natural gas, the production of higher value-added goods, the adoption of digital technologies, and the reduction of methane emissions. These areas are linked to improving production efficiency and ensuring that the energy sector develops in line with modern requirements.
An exhibition has also opened at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan as part of the international forum. It showcases modern equipment, technologies, and engineering solutions for the oil and gas industry. The exhibition covers a wide range of activities, from geological exploration and hydrocarbon extraction to transportation, natural gas processing, and industrial automation.
One of the highlights of this year’s exhibition is the debut of Malaysia’s national pavilion. More than 20 Malaysian companies are expected to participate, reflecting an interest in strengthening business ties between the two countries in the energy and technology sectors.
The forum’s programme includes business-to-business meetings, discussions of investment proposals, and assessments of opportunities for joint projects. Specialised sessions are also planned on professional training, skills development, and strengthening the industry’s workforce.

Held for more than three decades, the “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan” conference and exhibition has served as an important platform for presenting the country’s energy-sector opportunities to the international community, exchanging expertise, and building new partnerships. OGT 2026 continues this dialogue, providing a venue to explore investment opportunities, modern technologies, and prospects for long-term cooperation in the energy industry.
