Embassy of Malaysia in Ashgabat has invited this year’s alumni of Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) to an appreciation gathering.
This year, 27 specialists from various government agencies and institutions of Turkmenistan have successfully completed short term training courses under MTCP.
Mr. Khairul Hezry Arifin, Chargé d’affaires of the Malaysian Embassy have addressed his appreciation to the guests for the participation. He emphasized the importance of such programs in further development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.
The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) was established in 1980 as Malaysia’s commitment to South-South Cooperation through the sharing of Malaysia’s development experiences and expertise with other developing countries.
MTCP is premised on the principle that the development of a country is dependent on the quality of its human capital and resources. MTCP emphasizes on human resources development mainly through training and capacity-building courses including short-term and long-term courses. To date, more than 35,000 participants from 144 developing countries have benefited from various programs offered under the MTCP, including Turkmenistan.
Annually, Malaysia’s MTCP flagship offers more than 60 technical trainings and capacity-building programs in vast areas of development to developing countries in collaboration with leading local training institutions and international strategic development partners. MTCP also offers scholarships for international students to pursue postgraduate studies at selected Malaysian universities.
