Tourism professionals in Ashgabat discuss opportunities under Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign

Ashgabat — Representatives of Turkmenistan’s tourism sector gathered in Ashgabat for a seminar dedicated to the international tourism promotion campaign Visit Malaysia 2026, aimed at strengthening tourism ties and expanding cooperation between Malaysia and Central Asian markets.

The event brought together local tour operators, travel industry specialists and tourism stakeholders to learn about Malaysia’s tourism offerings, upcoming promotional initiatives and opportunities for cooperation with Malaysian partners.

The seminar was organized with the support of tourism company TRAWELCO (Bagtyýar Dostlar), which serves as a regional partner of Malaysia Tourism for the promotion of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign in Turkmenistan. Representatives of the company noted the growing interest in Southeast Asian destinations among travelers from the region and emphasized the importance of building closer professional links between tourism stakeholders.

During the seminar, participants received information about the objectives of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, priority tourism segments, and new opportunities for travelers interested in visiting the Southeast Asian nation. Discussions also focused on prospects for increasing tourist exchanges and developing partnerships between tourism businesses in Turkmenistan and Malaysia.
