South Korea’s President, Yun Sok-Yol, has begun a two-day state visit to Turkmenistan.
President Yun received a warm welcome at Ashgabat International Airport with an official ceremony, including raised flags and a guard of honor. Following tradition, he was presented with bread and f, a symbol of Turkmen hospitality, before being escorted to his residence at the “Oguzkent” hotel.
Building strong relations with Asia-Pacific nations, particularly South Korea, a leader among developed countries, is a cornerstone of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy. Open and productive dialogue between the two nations is seen as crucial for strengthening cooperation.
Under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan has actively pursued expanding its partnership with South Korea across various sectors, including political and diplomatic relations, trade and economic relations, cultural exchange, and parliamentary collaboration.
Following his arrival in Turkmenistan for a two-day state visit, President Yun Seok-Yeol of South Korea met with Turkmenistan’s President, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for official talks in Ashgabat. Discussions began with a one-on-one meeting before expanding to include government delegates from both countries.
The leaders covered a broad range of topics related to cooperation between their nations, focusing on immediate priorities and future development. This first visit by President Yun is seen as a significant moment in the relationship between Turkmenistan and South Korea. The summit concluded with the signing of a package of bilateral agreements.
