The Turkmen Energy Investment Forum has started in Paris

The press service of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector reported that the International Forum on Attracting Foreign Investments in Turkmenistan’s Energy Sector (TEIF 2024) began on Wednesday in Paris, France.

President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, congratulated the participants of the event and expressed his belief that this occasion would serve as a catalyst for successfully addressing tasks related to the domestic oil and gas sector. Furthermore, he expressed his hope that it would help in attracting foreign capital and activating mutually beneficial partnerships.

The TEIF event scheduled for 2024 will focus on several key topics related to Turkmenistan’s contribution to the global energy landscape. These include exploring new investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector, implementing measures to reduce carbon emissions during hydrocarbon production, accelerating investment attraction in infrastructure projects, and examining the role of financial institutions in promoting clean energy initiatives.

The upcoming forum will have a specific focus on drawing foreign investments in hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Sea, refining the extraction process of mature fields, developing the Galkynysh gas field, constructing the TAPI pipeline, and expanding new gas production. In addition, there will be a separate session dedicated to addressing the issue of methane emission reduction. The participants will also discuss the opportunities available in Turkmenistan’s construction and transportation sectors.

The Paris forum will focus on attracting investments in the development of Turkmen offshore fields, with special attention given to Blocks 16, 21, 23, and 24.

The forum, with the participation of about 300 delegates, is organized by the state concerns TurkmenGaz and Turkmennebit in cooperation with Turkmen Forum and the British company GaffneyCline.
