World food day

The importance of the day has evolved over the years as it now calls for global solidarity to help the most vulnerable people to recover and make food systems more sustainable and resilient to shocks. The day is also celebrated to increase awareness about the importance of nutritious food for good health. No one can think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.

World Food Day is a day of fighting against hunger at the same time spread the awareness of surviving hunger . World hunger means the scarcity of food resources of a country and the wants or needs of food are unable to fulfilled in the society. Malnutrition, undernutrition and overnutrition (obesity, overweight) is the causes of hunger. Both malnutrition and undernutrition refer to the effects on people of not having enough food. In this day and age, over thousands and millions of people are struggling to feed their children a nutritious meal and most of them do not have a healthy eating lifestyle. Eradicating hunger and malnutrition is one of the vital issue of in this society. Not only do the consequences of not enough or lack of food cause suffering in hunger and detrimental health, they are also slow in progress in many other areas of development like education and employment. In this sophisticated world, millions of people still go to bed on an empty stomach each night. Even more people suffer in malnutrition. Children are the most visible victims of undernutrition.

On this World Food Day, we must promise ourselves to never waste food… as an initiative and contribution to saving food for those who are hungry…. Let us make a huge difference with our small actions.
