The Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization had their 22nd meeting in Bishkek on October 26, 2023. This report is about the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was joined by the top leaders of Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan.
During the meeting, they talked about keeping everyone safe, trading goods, working together on economic and cultural projects, and joining forces to fight against pollution and climate change. They also discussed protecting the environment and the different kinds of plants and animals that live in it. Specifically, the SCO focused on creating a shared economic market and discussed matters related to energy, transportation, and agriculture.
The meeting discussed important topics for the Commonwealth economy, like trade, industry, transport, energy, and investment. They also talked about establishing new trade relationships.
The Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states will meet in Ashgabat in May 2024.
