During its 26-year history, our organization “Permanent Neutrality” has made great strides in pursuing a peaceful foreign policy and has achieved high prestige and very high standards in the world. This period determined the main direction and main goal of the Turkmen people to achieve our goals in a short time and made it clear that our constant neutrality is very important to achieve such a level in our country. In the book “Neutral Turkmenistan”, which is very popular with our Hero Arkadag, he noted: “I think it should be said that the level of neutrality is not a rare phenomenon in the international arena. It is well known that the components of neutrality are widely used at one level or another on a global scale, regardless of whether the neutrality is short-term or long-term. We are certainly not the first country to choose the Level of Neutrality as the main form of influence on the outside world. However, in no country does neutrality form an active and productive force, as in Turkmenistan. Neutrality is paramount to us in our peaceful steps. Neutrality is an important foundation for us in all spheres of life”.
Our neutrality is positive neutrality in its national character. Turkmenistan’s permanent positive neutrality means that it will adhere to a fruitful approach to international affairs, use its political capabilities to resolve conflicts and disputes between states without violence and to establish a more humane and creative order in international relations. Rejecting the possibility of interference in the internal affairs of other states, recognizing the inalienable right of each state to choose its own path of development, Turkmenistan is always ready to assist any process of reconciliation, in the name of peace, in the name of peace and reconciliation.
The unanimous adoption of the Resolution on the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly on June 3, 2015 is a reflection of the effective foreign policy of Turkmenistan aimed at ensuring peace, security and sustainable development at the regional and global levels. complete proof of this. By adopting the document, the United Nations officially declared its support for the policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan, recognizing its effective role in supporting reconciliation and the peace process in the international arena. The resolution recognizes the historical experience and the decisive role of Turkmenistan’s neutrality in strengthening peace and security in the region, its contribution to the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations in the field of international relations.
On December 12, 2015, our state celebrated the 20th anniversary of the status of permanent neutrality. The adoption of the Resolution on the proclamation of December 12 as “International Day of Neutrality” at the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on February 2, 2017 at the 71st session of the UN General Assembly is a proud event that confirms his reputation.
Today the prestige of our Independent, eternally neutral Motherland, which nurtures great achievements and pursues lofty goals, is increasing today. Our Turkmen people are immensely proud of the high recognition of our country in international relations.
