On January 7, 2020, at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the results of the country’s socio-economic development for 2019 were summed up. Also, during the meeting, tasks for the current year and personnel issues were discussed.
Among the topics considered at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was the announcement by the chairman of the National Trade Union Center Mrs. G.Atayeva of the best district (etrap – turkmen) of the country in 2019. According to the results of the inspection of the special commission led by the Trade Unions, Geoktepe district of the Akhal province (velayat – turkmen) became the best in Turkmenistan.
As known, at the beginning of 2019, a traditional competition was announced among districts and cities with district rights in the provinces to achieve the highest results in social, economic and cultural indicators.
The President signed the Orders on awarding a cash prize in the amount of 1 million US dollars to the khyakimlik (municipality) of the Geoktepe district of Akhal province, which became the winner, and on the announcement of a new similar competition in 2020.
