The Ýigit Economic Society, located in Kaka district of Ahal province, plans to expand the area used for growing paprika, a type of bell pepper. This was reported in a press release from the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
During the previous harvest season, the company experimentally cultivated paprika under greenhouse conditions on an area of 5 hectares. The trial reportedly produced a good yield.
In line with this year’s production plans, the area allocated for paprika cultivation is expected to be expanded to 50 hectares. Relevant organizational work is currently under way.
The Ýigit Economic Society operates modern greenhouse complexes in Kaka district of Ahal province. Alongside tomatoes, the company is focusing on expanding its production activities by cultivating other vegetables.
The press release also notes that the company provides employment to more than 3,700 young people.
