The city of Anew was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024

As you know, the city of Anew in Turkmenistan was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. The appropriate decision was unanimously adopted at the 39th session of the TURKSOY Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture held in Bursa, Turkey.

The 40th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the Turkic Culture International Organization (TURKSOY) will be held on October 13-14, 2023 in Shusha, Azerbaijan, the cultural capital of the Turkic world. As usual, the work of TURKSOY will be discussed at the meeting, plans for 2024 will be announced and relevant decisions will be made. At the meeting, it will be announced that the status of “Cultural Capital of the Turkish World” will be transferred to the city of Anew in Turkmenistan in 2024.

In this regard, a schedule of cultural events with the participation of creative groups and representatives of other countries is being prepared next year. In particular, it is planned to organize scientific, youth and media forums, concerts of famous pop singers and folk performers, exhibitions of fine and decorative arts, photo galleries and others. In addition, national creative events will be held in Anew under the auspices of TURKSOY.
