Rice-sowing farms in Lebap and Dashoguz regions have fulfilled the state order for rice production in the amount of 82,400 tons of harvest. In total, 18,300 hectares of land were allotted for rice fields in two regions, on which high-yield varieties “Bereketli”, “Munbash”, “Alenga” were planted, the news reported by orient.tm web site.
The highest yield was demonstrated by the farms of the Lebap region – 47 thousand 400 tons from 10.2 hectares of land (on average 4 647 kg from 1 hectare), and Dashoguz enterprises harvested 35 000 thousand tons of “pearl” grain (on average – 4 320 kg per hectare).
The report notes that Lebap farmers also harvested this year more than 32 thousand tons of potatoes, 13.6 thousand tons of tomatoes, 22.5 thousand tons of onions, 4.5 thousand tons of cabbage and 42 thousand tons of melons.
