International Conference “Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Activities for Children”

The city of Arkadag hosted the International Conference “Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Activities for Children” on Saturday. According to Turkmenistan’s official media, organized as part of the Year of Peace and Trust celebrations, the event served as a platform for discussing key initiatives to strengthen international cooperation in support of children.

The conference emphasized Turkmenistan’s major accomplishments in child welfare, including the National Action Plan for 2023–2028, a vaccination coverage exceeding 95% among children, salt iodization and flour fortification programs, and the successful implementation of inclusive education across the country.

Participants of the event particularly acknowledged the contributions of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation, which celebrated its fourth anniversary on the same day. UNICEF praised the foundation’s efforts to support children in difficult circumstances, highlighting it as a testament to Turkmenistan’s dedication to child welfare.

In conjunction with the conference, a special event was held in Arkadag to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assisting Children in Need.

The gathering welcomed distinguished guests, including Deputy Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia Inna Yuryevna Svyatenko, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan Saida Shavkatovna Mirziyoyeva, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Sharipbayevna Alnazarova, Georgia’s Minister of Labor, Health, and Social Protection Mikheil Sarjveladze, Türkiye’s Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Armenia’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Health Vardanush Grigoryan, and Askin&Co Med-Lab CEO Ralph Lugbauer.

As part of the celebrations, creative competitions were held for the children of employees from foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations operating in Turkmenistan.
