Turkmenistan is strengthening its collaboration with countries in the African region.

A meeting was held in Ashgabat, our capital, on June 20, between the Turkmen delegation led by Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova and the delegation led by Mabel Chinomona, Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

The head of the National Parliament of Turkmenistan introduced the guest to the main directions of the country’s domestic and foreign policy, the composition of the Mejlis, and the work being carried out on the exchange of experience in the legislative work.

During the bilateral meeting, the parties emphasized with satisfaction that there are ample opportunities to exchange experience in improving the national legislation and parliamentary work, to get to know the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen the friendly relations between the peoples. Establishing mutually advantageous relations in the direction of the parliaments will enrich the meaning of the cooperation between the two countries.

Today, special attention is paid to Turkmenistan’s foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality with all the world’s countries, including effective cooperation with the countries of the African region.
