A new 5,000-seat campus of the Seýitnazar Seýdi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute has opened in Turkmenabat, significantly expanding the city’s facilities for training future teachers.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony on the Day of Knowledge and Students. The new complex was built by a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The campus covers nearly 26 hectares and includes academic buildings, an assembly hall, a library, a 1,000-seat canteen, sports facilities and six student dormitories accommodating 2,000 students.
Modern digital technologies have been introduced throughout the academic buildings. Students have access to dozens of laboratories for chemistry, biology, physics, technology and other disciplines, as well as museums dedicated to history, archaeology, ethnography, flora and fauna.
The institute’s new library can hold up to 1 million books and includes a 700-seat reading hall and a 100-seat electronic library.
The complex also features a football field and dedicated volleyball and basketball halls, providing expanded opportunities for students’ sporting and extracurricular activities.
The opening was accompanied by the presentation of international certificates and recognition to the institute, including certificates from Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University and UNICEF, as well as a UNESCO letter of appreciation and an International Association of Universities membership certificate.
The new campus strengthens the institute’s capacity to train teachers and education specialists using modern educational technologies and research facilities.
