Students Engage with Sylap Atayev on Social Media Awareness

A specialized training session titled “Social Media and Us” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The session focused on educating the younger generation about the proper use of social networks and the effective utilization of the internet in daily life. The training was conducted by education consultant Sylap Atayev.

During the session, the expert emphasized the growing significance of social media in modern life, highlighting that these platforms are not only popular among the youth but also increasingly attract the attention of children. He pointed out that excessive use of social networks can lead to a decline in the ability to process and assimilate information, a loss of “live” communication skills among the youth, and the emergence of issues related to physical and mental health, such as decreased activity, disrupted sleep patterns, vision problems, posture issues, and obesity.

The consultant provided real-life examples to illustrate the negative impacts of social media and offered valuable advice on how to use the internet and social networks responsibly.

The students participating in the training session had the opportunity to ask questions about social media and its proper usage, gaining important insights and practical knowledge.
