The Mahabat Directorate of the State Committee for Television, Radiobroadcasting, and Cinematography of Turkmenistan has been involved in the field of animation for many years. The works prepared by the department are showcased at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, which is one of the most renowned animation festivals in the world.
This festival features animation studios such as Pixar, DreamWorks Animation, Walt Disney Animation Studio, Illumination Animation, and others. It provides a platform for a weeklong discussion of diverse animation styles and techniques.
The festival program includes various events such as competitions, premieres, current projects, master classes, exhibitions, and meetings of directors, producers, and creative staff.
Turkmenistan is participating for the first time in this festival, which has been held since 1998, with the animated films “Lost Ball” and “My Game.” The country’s participation in this festival serves as evidence that Turkmen animation meets world standards.
