President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov pardoned 736 convicted citizens

On Friday, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, conducted an extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers through a digital system. During the session, he signed a decree granting pardons to convicted individuals. The President highlighted that the pardon is being granted to citizens who have sincerely repented for their crimes. He also emphasized that initiatives like these, aimed at releasing individuals from punishment, will continue.

During the meeting, the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Commission for Citizenship and Clemency Proposals under the President of Turkmenistan, B. Gundogdyev, reported on the Commission’s work regarding pardoning citizens who committed crimes, in honor of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

After the report, the President, in adherence to the noble tradition, signed a decree pardoning 736 convicted citizens of the country on Independence Day.
