China imported natural gas from Turkmenistan worth $8.41 billion

In 2025, China imported natural gas from Turkmenistan worth $8.41 billion, according to data released by China’s General Administration of Customs and cited by TASS.

At present, approximately 40 billion cubic meters of Turkmen natural gas are delivered to China annually via the A, B, and C lines of the Turkmenistan–China gas pipeline. Following the full commissioning of the D line, export volumes are expected to rise to 65 billion cubic meters per year, enhancing the stability of gas supplies.

Earlier this year, China’s CNPC launched industrial development of the fourth phase of the Galkynysh gas field, the largest in the world, with a projected annual production capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Additionally, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and China from January to November exceeded $9.164 billion, reflecting the steady growth of bilateral economic relations.
