The presentation of the global report on world population in 2024, timed to coincide with the World Population Day celebrated annually on this day, took place today at the capital’s “Yyldyz” hotel.
The document, which gives a general idea of the current situation in the world and the problems faced by residents of various countries today, highlights issues of paramount importance to humanity. First, this concerns women’s empowerment in the field of reproductive health.
Noting the successes achieved by Turkmenistan in protecting public health, ensuring gender equality and creating favorable conditions for people’s lives, empowering them, representatives of the United Nations Population Fund emphasized their readiness to comprehensively expand the established fruitful cooperation and provide full support in the development, adoption and implementation population policies and development strategies.
Thus, as part of today’s event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Population Fund, which confirmed the parties’ mutual interest in further cooperation to achieve common goals.
