From December 2-6, 2023, the 5th World Media Summit is happening in Guangzhou, China. Representatives from Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State news agency, and the Media-Turkmen news agency are attending.
On December 3, 2023, at the start of the Forum, the CEO of Xinhua, a representative from the Communist Party of China, the governor of Guangdong Province, and the mayor of Guangzhou gave speeches. The motto for the event is “Building trust in the world and improving media growth. ” Other people who spoke to the audience included the UN Deputy Secretary-General for Global Communications, the president of the Japanese news agency Kyodo News, the head of Reuters, and the leaders of People’s Daily, Associated Press, and Agence France-Presse.
After the big meeting, the World Media Summit released a statement.
On December 4, 2023, people met at the Forum and talked about these things: “How the media can help people trust each other and stay safe”, “How the media can use new technology and deal with new problems”, “How the media can create new markets using digital technology” and “How the media from different countries can work together to make the future better”. They wanted to figure out how the media can help with big problems all around the world.
During their speeches, the people at the event asked global media companies to work together and help the media industry grow. They also wanted to improve understanding between different countries and people with different histories, cultures, and levels of development. They believe this will make the world more stable and bring good energy to our changing world.
