Yesterday, Turkmenistan celebrated the harvest holiday, symbolizing the country’s agricultural abundance. The main festivities took place along the Garagum River in Ashgabat, with the participation of the Chairwoman of the Mejlis, cabinet members, diplomats, and honored elders.
Before the holiday, an award ceremony recognized agricultural workers for their outstanding contributions during the year “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi,” held at the Turkmen Agricultural University on the directive of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Turkmenistan continues to advance in the Era of Revival, focusing on reforms to improve living standards. The government is actively developing the agrarian sector, strengthening the economy and enhancing the well-being of its people. Modern technologies are being introduced, and prices for state procurement of wheat, cotton, and rice have increased as part of ongoing reforms.
The government has implemented programs to produce import-replacing goods and increase exports, strengthening the food-processing industry and ensuring food quality for the population. Active collaboration with international organizations, particularly the FAO, supports our efforts toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals in agriculture.
The celebrations featured musical performances and an open-air exhibition showcasing agricultural achievements, applied arts, and modern agricultural machinery. Visitors admired cotton varieties, Turkmen wheat, fresh produce, and the remarkable work of local scientists and workers in agriculture, reflecting the success of ongoing reforms.
