Matchday 1 Recap
The International Hockey Tournament in Ashgabat kicked off with an exciting match between reigning champions “Galkan” from Turkmenistan and “Bahrain”. The Group A clash ended in a dominant victory for “Galkan” with a score of 8-1.
Novruz Baykhanov, Pavel Barkovsky, Aleksandar Vohovsky, Begench Dovletmyradov, Arslan Geldymyradov, Dovlet Hydyrov, Arslan Nuryyev, and Baymyrat Baymyradov scored for the winners.
Joining “Galkan” and “Bahrain” in Group A are “Phoenix” (Uzbekistan), “Oman” (Oman), and “Ice Box” (Iran).

The tournament continues with a packed schedule for Matchday 2:
Group A
- 10:00 “Galkyn” (Turkmenistan) vs. “Oman Hanjars” (Oman)
- 13:00 “Bahrain” (Bahrain) vs. “Ice Box” (Iran)
Group B
- 10:00 “Volat” (Belarus) vs. “Gumush Skates SC” (Turkey)
- 13:00 “Akmola” (Kazakhstan) vs. “Dordoi” (Kyrgyzstan)
Tournament Format
The top teams from each group will advance to the tournament finals. The second-place teams in each group will compete for bronze medals.
The tournament is taking place in Ashgabat and will run from today until April 20.
