An international forum aimed at attracting foreign investments into Turkmenistan’s economy is taking place in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on April 23–24, 2025. This was reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.
The main goal of the forum is to provide a comprehensive overview of Turkmenistan’s investment opportunities, to discuss prospects for cooperation in the most dynamic sectors of the economy, and to encourage the participation of foreign investors, companies, organizations, and financial institutions. This event is also considered an important step toward strengthening the international business reputation of Turkmenistan.
The forum is expected to bring together representatives of leading international corporations, major regional and global organizations, financial institutions, consulting and rating agencies, as well as international experts. Delegations from more than 40 countries have expressed interest in participating, which reflects the growing international attention to Turkmenistan. During the forum, participants will be introduced to the country’s investment potential, including ongoing and planned major projects. The event will also serve as a platform for presenting innovative ideas and identifying priority investment sectors.
Due to its favorable geographical and economic position, its abundant hydrocarbon resources, and the government’s policy—under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan—of industrializing the economy and diversifying energy export routes, Turkmenistan has assumed a key role in the global energy market. In this context, one of the main themes of the forum will be “2025 – The International Year of Peace and Trust: Turkmenistan’s Role in Shaping the Future of Global Energy and Sustainable Development.”
The forum will conclude with presentations dedicated to Turkmenistan’s environmental protection efforts and its initiatives in the fight against climate change, as proposed by the President of Turkmenistan. Ultimately, this forum in Kuala Lumpur will stand as clear evidence of Turkmenistan’s advancement to a new stage in investment development. It will open wide opportunities for establishing long-term partnerships with foreign investors and for engaging in major international projects. Participants will also be able to explore new projects in sectors such as construction, energy, oil and gas, finance and banking, information technologies, and telecommunications, as well as to present their own technologies and scientific developments.
