World Government Summit 2024

The Turkmen mission, headed by our Deputy Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, as part of a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on Monday, took part in the meetings of the World Summit (WGS 2024), which was reported to the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

In his speech at the “Effective Policy” session, Rashid Meredov said that Turkmenistan, as a responsible member of the International community, clearly formulates and implements its approaches and actions, outlining priorities, according to which the country’s contribution will ensure the speedy achievement of goals.

In this second chapter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted such aspects as transport connectivity and sustainability. Thus, in the initiative of Turkmenistan, six UN Humanity Resolutions on sustainable transport were adopted in the last decade.

Meredov proposed the creation of a Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity (Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity), an Alliance for Cooperation on Global Energy Security and Development (Global Alliance for Energy Security and Sustainable Development Cooperation) and the development of a Global Framework for the Transition to a Circular Economy ( Global Circular (Framework for Economic Transition) based on the priorities of the 2030 Development Agenda.
