On April 4, 2025, a Turkmen delegation participated in the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council held in Baku, according to a statement from Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev delivered a comprehensive speech outlining Azerbaijan’s energy policy, underscoring the value of international collaboration and highlighting the regional and global importance of the Southern Gas Corridor project.
Speakers at the event stressed that the Southern Gas Corridor plays a key role in supporting Europe’s energy security amid current global geopolitical dynamics.
Discussions also focused on expanding the corridor’s infrastructure, such as increasing gas deliveries through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline and exploring opportunities to supply gas to new European markets in South-Eastern and Central Europe.
Participants exchanged views on renewable energy initiatives, particularly offshore wind energy projects planned for the Caspian Sea.
The event concluded with the signing of agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of green energy.
