President of Turkmenistan leads mass cycling event

On Monday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov led a large-scale bike ride in honor of World Health Day, according to the event’s official website. The cycling route stretched from the Health Path to the center of Ashgabat.

The event brought together government officials, members of the Mejlis, representatives from various ministries, public organizations, the media, foreign diplomats, students from the Döwletliler Köşgi Palace, schoolchildren, university students, and professional athletes.

During the ride, President Berdimuhamedov gave instructions to Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atahallyev to strengthen supervision over the National Forest Program, which focuses on enhancing the environment and expanding green spaces. He also tasked Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov with continuing efforts to beautify Ashgabat, increase greenery, and promote sports-related infrastructure.

The bike ride ended at the Ruhyýet Palace, where the President wished everyone good health and future achievements.

Similar cycling events were held in the city of Arkadag and other regions of the country. Throughout Health Week, which took place from April 1 to 7, Turkmenistan hosted a range of themed conferences, exhibitions, and cultural programs to promote a healthy lifestyle.
