Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, met with Professor Hideomi Koinuma, President of the Japan-Turkmenistan Association for Science and Technology Cooperation, in Tokyo on March 25, 2025. According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan, the discussion focused on the potential signing of agreements related to water purification technologies.
The meeting also included representatives from the University of Tokyo, Tohoku University, Chiba University, and the Japanese company Tohkemy Corporation. Participants reviewed the progress made in 2024, outlined plans for 2025, and explored ways to enhance scientific and technical cooperation between the two nations.
Additionally, the Japanese delegation expressed interest in forming partnerships with Turkmenistan’s higher education institutions in fields such as medicine, agriculture, decarbonization, and green technologies.
To further these initiatives, online meetings will soon be arranged between universities, ministries, and other relevant organizations from both countries to determine specific areas of collaboration.
