Eight universities from Turkmenistan are in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking for 2023. This was reported by the online publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The UI GreenMetric World University Ranking is a yearly list that shows how well universities are taking care of the environment and helping to make the world a better place.
The world’s universities are judged on 6 things: their buildings and how they affect the environment; how much energy they use and save; how they handle their waste; how they teach about the environment and do research on it; how they use water; how they handle transportation.
The top university in Turkmenistan is the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University. It is ranked 432nd, which is 205 places higher than last year. The university got 6660 points, showing that it did well in all areas that evaluate world universities.
Every year, universities give data for the ranking. Independent experts, specialists, and scientists research and analyze the data. Universities are given a place in the world list depending on how well they perform and how many points they get. The results come out in December.
This year, we have eight universities in the global rankings. This fact demonstrates that ecology, environmental conservation, and education in science are very important in this country, both at universities and nationwide. Turkmenistan tries hard to meet its goals and keeps its promises. It takes part in many agreements and conventions to protect the environment and use natural resources wisely. This is to help the country develop in a way that is good for society, the economy, and the environment.
