A creative meeting of Turkmen and Uzbek writers and poets

A gathering of Turkmen and Uzbek writers and poets happened on October 29 in Tashkent during the Turkmenistan cultural event in Uzbekistan. A special event celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of a famous thinker and poet from the East, Magtymguly Pyragy, was held in the building of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan. “Orient” news reported about it.

People who took part in the event were poets, writers, important people in culture and science from both countries, people who work in the media, and Turkmen people living in Uzbekistan. The people in charge informed the visitors about the accomplishments, imagination, and culture of Uzbek writers. They also showed them books of traditional and contemporary stories from Turkmen literature translated into Uzbek language.


As part of the cultural program, the visitors went to the museum of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan. There, they saw special things like posters, old photographs, books, and objects from different times. These things showed the lives and work of writers, poets, and critics from Uzbekistan. According to the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan’s website, a visit to the “Writers’ Park” in Tashkent also took place.
