On October 2, 2023, in the city of Arkadag, at the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev, the International Youth Forum called “Dialogue is Guarantee of Peace” took place. The Government of Turkmenistan, along with the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan’s Office and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, worked together to plan and carry out the event.
The aim of this forum is to encourage peaceful conversations to solve conflicts and bridge gaps between people worldwide by using diplomatic methods.
The parties agreed to the Turkmen side’s proposal of having regular international meetings where people from different cultures can talk and understand each other better. This will help young people to have a platform to build peace and trust.
As a result of the event, a document called a Memorandum was signed to start a Youth Dialogue between Central Asian countries. The participants of the International Youth Forum also agreed on something called an appeal which emphasizes that dialogue is important for ensuring peace.
