An international scientific conference on hydrocarbon developments

“Turkmen Forum” and the national energy companies of Turkmenistan will hold an international scientific conference on hydrocarbon developments at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshageldi Kakayev in Ashgabat on Thursday. The main goal of the scientific conference will be to develop hydrocarbon deposits and reduce emissions to the environment during the energy transition.

According to the “Turkmen Forum” economic society, more than 800 delegations from 20 countries will participate in the international conference.

The conference is an annual event to discuss environmental issues arising in the country’s oil and gas sector, as well as to strengthen international cooperation between Turkmenistan’s government agencies and major energy companies, international organizations, academies and financial institutions.

Turkmenistan proposed the creation of a regional center for air technologies in Central Asia, as well as initiatives to create a UN Water Strategy and a Special Program for the Aral Sea.

The meeting was attended by representatives of international companies such as CNPC, BP, Exxon Mobil, Petronas, ADNOC, Mitro International, Buried Hill, NAPECO, Dragon Oil, ENI and Lukoil, and the International Energy Agency (IRENA). International oil and gas organizations such as the Global Gas Center, the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Secretariat of the Energy Charter will participate.
