The 31st anniversary of the turkmen-pakistan relations

During the period of the revival of the new era of Powerful state, the foreign policy of the our esteemed President, which is based on the values ​​of peace, friendship and mutual advantage, gained great prestige in international relations. This has an impact on the further development of relations between the permanent neutral Turkmenistan and the countries of the world, especially the neighboring peoples and states. One of the such friendly country is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

After the independence of the Turkmenistan, there were great opportunities for the development of turkmen-pakistan relations. Diplomatic relations were established between the two countries on May 9, 1992. Permanently neutral Turkmenistan first announced its permanent policy of neutrality on March 15, 1995 at the meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) , which was held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. In that meeting, Pakistan with other members of the organization unanimously supported the peace loving policy of Turkmen people. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is also active in supporting the recommendations of Turkmenistan at the United Nations General Assembly, which promote peace, security and sustainable development in the world.

The trade and economic, fuel and energy, agriculture and transport and communication sectors are priority areas in the cooperation between the two countries. Turkmenistan is cooperating with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan electricity pipeline.
