With the endeavor of our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedow to include our country’s universities to the list of higher educational institutions of international level till the year 2024, Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan participated in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2022 and was awarded as a sustainable university among 1050 universities of the world (https://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/).
The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is an initiative of Universitas Indonesia which is launched in 2010. The objective of the ranking is to assess current conditions and policies related to Green Campuses and sustainability in the universities globally through 39 indicators in 6 criteria. This annual ranking is intended to provide a holistic assessment of the sustainability activities of universities with regard to energy consumption and climate protection.
All universities in the world which have strong commitments to sustainability issues participate in the annual UI GreenMetric World University Ranking. They are ranked based on the following criteria:
- setting and infrastructure
- energy and climate change
- waste
- water
- transportation
- education and research.
Achievement of Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan serves as evidence of its active work on the development of innovations in the frame of sustainability. It supports the state policies of our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in various spheres such as education, protection of the environment, and development of the digital economy.
