Schoolchildren achieved high results at the XXI International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics held in Astana from January 13 to 17, 2025.

The 21st International Zhautykov Olympiad was held in Astana from January 13 to 17, 2025. A total of 700 schoolchildren and 150 leaders from 15 countries participated, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Mongolia. The team compositions were determined based on the results of the national subject Olympiads in each participating country.

This annual Olympiad is organized by the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn,” and the Republican Physical and Mathematical School.

The Olympiad lasted five days and consisted of two rounds. The difficulty of the tasks corresponded to specialized educational programs and was prepared by an international jury. Academician Askar Zhumadildaev of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan chaired the jury.

“The International Zhautykov Olympiad has been held for the 21st time in Kazakhstan. This year it was hosted in Astana for the first time, whereas it had been traditionally held in Almaty. Participants showcased their skills in theoretical and practical rounds at the Republican Physical and Mathematical School and Astana IT University, which were fully equipped with the necessary technical facilities,” said Gazhembek Tursunov, Director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn.”

As a result of the Olympiad, the winners were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, while all participants received certificates and commemorative gifts.
