On November 6, 2024, the 11th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) took place in Bishkek, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by the heads of state from the OTS member countries, as well as representatives from observer countries, and the head of the international organization. Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, N. Golliyev, represented Turkmenistan at the meeting.
During the session, participants exchanged views on the current status and future prospects of cooperation within the OTS framework. The discussions focused on practical collaboration in areas such as the economy, transportation, energy, and culture. Special emphasis was placed on coordinating joint efforts for sustainable development in OTS member states, with particular attention given to expanding financial and investment ties.
A key topic of the meeting was cooperation in the digital economy, especially in developing the logistics sector, strengthening the infrastructure of transport corridors, and improving trade and economic relations.
The meeting also included discussions on international and regional issues, with a focus on enhancing stability and security in the region.
As a result of the meeting, several documents were adopted by the representatives of the OTS member countries.
Additionally, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was awarded the “Supreme Order of the Turkic World” for his significant contribution to strengthening the unity of the Turkic world.
The Kyrgyz Republic officially took over the chairmanship of the OTS.
