The opening ceremony of the Magtymguli Fragi auditorium was held in Tbilisi

On September 11, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Magtymguli Fragi Auditorium took place at Sokhumi State University in Tbilisi to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the great Turkmen poet. The auditorium was presented by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia with the active assistance of Sokhumi State University.

The event was attended by a delegation from Turkmenistan, as well as faculty and students of the university. Addressing the audience, Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Georgia D. Seyitmammedov highlighted the importance of cultural and humanitarian exchanges in Turkmen-Georgian relations. He emphasized that cultural dialogues play a crucial role in strengthening relations between countries based on mutual respect, equality, and openness.

Members of the Turkmen delegation stressed that the works of Magtymguli Fragi, promoting humanism, purity, and unity, are a valuable asset to all of humanity. His poetry, translated into dozens of languages, resonates in the hearts of millions of readers around the world.

The Rector of Sokhumi State University, Z. Khonelidze, expressed confidence that the opening of the Magtymguli Auditorium will help introduce the Georgian public to the works of Magtymguli Fragi, Turkmen history, culture, and traditions, as well as strengthen the humanitarian dialogue and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

The event concluded with performances of Turkmen folk melodies by Turkmen artists.
