The delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the ECOSOC Youth Forum

The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the youth forum of the UN Economic and Social Council, which took place from April 16 to 18 at the UN headquarters in New York.

The delegation included the head of the international cooperation department of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly Begench Khalnepesov and third-year student of the International University of Humanities and Development Maral Allaberdyeva.

They took an active part in the discussions. The 2024 Forum’s theme was “Building a stronger recovery from COVID-19 while moving towards full implementation of the 2030 Agenda.”

It was aimed at uniting the efforts of young people to build a more equitable and sustainable future, accelerating the process of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The forum provided a platform for exchanging ideas and developing solutions.

At the end of the forum, a statement was adopted with recommendations to improve recovery from COVID-19 and accelerate achievement of the SDGs.

The annual UN Economic and Social Council Youth Forum was launched in 2012 as a forum for young people to contribute to the United Nations policy debate by presenting their collective ideas, solutions and innovations.
