There is no universal definition of what creative activity is. It can be creative expression or a way of solving problems in the economic or social sphere or in the field of sustainable development. By its resolution, the General Assembly declared April 21 as the World Day of Creativity and Innovation to draw attention to the creative activities of all life embraced.
The creative economy also does not have a single definition. It is an evolving concept based on the interplay of human creativity and ideas with intellectual property, knowledge and technology. Essentially, it is the knowledge-based economic activity on which «creative industries» are based. The creative economy, which includes audiovisual production, design, new media, performing arts, publishing and visual arts, is a highly transformative sector of the global economy in terms of revenue generation, job creation and export earnings. Culture is an essential component of sustainable development and is a source of identity, innovation and creativity for the individual and society. At the same time, creativity and culture have significant non-monetary value, which contributes to inclusive social development, dialogue and understanding between peoples.
