Turkmenistan receives dexamethasone medicines from UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund said in a news statement on Tuesday that it had given dexamethasone medicinal items worth over $413 thousand to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry for distribution to relevant public healthcare institutions across the nation.

The UNICEF-funded batch consists of 4.4 tons of dexamethasone tablets and ampules that were delivered.The delivery, according to UNICEF, will help Turkmenistan implement its National Acute Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan.UNICEF has been assisting the Government of Turkmenistan for decades by providing procurement and delivery services to protect and safeguard children and families with crucial medicines, vaccines, vaccine-related equipment, and hygiene supplies, according to a statement released by the UN agency.

Dexamethasone medications are commonly used as a supportive therapy option for unwell patients, including young and the elderly, in a variety of illnesses.
