NEUTRALITY IS OUR PEACE

In December 1995, one of the proud events of the fate of the Turkmen people took place.  On that day, our country was accorded the status of Neutrality by 185 countries around the world in accordance with the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly.  The day of Neutrality was an event written in golden letters in the history of the entire Turkmen people.  Turkmenistan, as a member of the United Nations, as well as several of the most prestigious international organizations, has established friendly diplomatic relations with many countries around the world.  A few decades later, on June 3, 2015, Turkmenistan was accorded the status of Permanent Neutrality for the second time by 193 UN member states.  With the status of neutrality, our Motherland Turkmenistan has made progress at the pace of development.  The foreign policy of our country has yielded positive results in friendly relations with neighboring countries.

With the acquisition of the status of Neutrality of our country, a new page in the history of the Turkmen people has been opened.  The centuries-old dream of our forefathers has come true.  Turkmen Neutrality is a well-intentioned dream that has been around for centuries.  When we look at history, the Turkmen people have created many states.  They wished a unified Neutral State that would resolve any disputes that maintained friendly relations with foreign countries by following humanitarian principles.

Neutrality is considered to be the pride of the Turkmen people today.  The policy of Neutrality, which our country pursues, is based on the principles that have been passed down from our ancestors.  Turkmenistan is considered to be a place of friendship and brotherhood in the eyes of the world community.  The fact that the friendly relations with neighboring countries are strengthening year by year is also a clear example of this.  During the years of neutrality, our country has grown and changed beyond recognition.  A number of long term projects have been implemented.  Proud results have been achieved in all sectors, including science, education, health, economics, culture, and agriculture.
