World Post Day

World Post Day is celebrated annually on October 9, the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union, which was established in 1874 in the Swiss capital of Bern. The official announcement of World Post Day came from the podium at the 1969 UPU Congress in Tokyo, Japan.

Since then, World Post Day has been celebrated annually in many countries around the world. Posts in many countries are taking advantage of this opportunity to introduce or promote new postal products and services.

The purpose of World Post Day is to promote the role of the postal sector in the daily life of people and companies and its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country. Member States celebrating this Day are encouraged to develop programs of activities to raise awareness of the role and activities of their postal services among the public and the media at the national level.COVID-19 has affected every country in the world, including established supply infrastructure, but the post still found a way to continue providing services to the public. It is this innovation of postal services and their sustainability in serving the population that we celebrate on World Post Day.
