Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Tsukuba University, one of Japan’s top academic institutions, according to official Turkmen media.
The award ceremony was held at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, where President Berdimuhamedov met with Kyosuke Nagata, the President of Tsukuba University.
During their meeting, President Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance Turkmenistan places on enhancing its bilateral relations with Japan, particularly in the education sector. He highlighted the vital role of academic exchange programs and direct collaboration between the higher education institutions of both countries.
The President reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s dedication to expanding joint projects that support the development of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in scientific and humanitarian areas.
Currently, Tsukuba University maintains cooperation agreements with two major universities in Turkmenistan: the Dovletmammet Azadi Institute of World Languages and the Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University.
