“Galkan” App Launched in Turkmenistan to Streamline Traffic Fine Payments and Enhance Road Safety

A new mobile application for paying traffic fines, “Galkan”, has been officially launched in Turkmenistan. The app, developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Turkmenistan, is currently available for download on “Google Play”, with plans to release it on the “App Store” in the near future.

Galkan aims to simplify the process of paying fines for traffic violations, offering drivers an easier way to comply with penalties issued by law enforcement. However, the app’s functionality extends beyond just fine payments. In the coming months, several additional features will be made available to users, transforming Galkan into a comprehensive tool for accessing various services provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Among the forthcoming features is the ability to pay fines issued by police officers directly through the app, ensuring a seamless and convenient online payment process. Additionally, the app will allow citizens to join the “electronic queue at passport offices”, sparing them the hassle of physically waiting in line. Another key feature in development is access to the “Fire Safety Service”, enabling users to obtain vital information and services regarding fire safety.

Under the “Traffic Service” section, a number of important functions will soon be introduced. These include the replacement of driver’s licenses and vehicle technical passports, as well as the registration of state vehicle numbers and the restoration of lost or damaged state numbers.

The app’s user-friendly interface makes it accessible to a wide range of users. Registering for the service requires only a mobile phone number, after which a confirmation code is entered to complete the sign-up process.

While Galkan promises to streamline many administrative processes related to traffic services, the MIA also reminds the public of the importance of road safety. Drivers are encouraged to obey traffic laws, stay attentive, and prioritize safety while on the road. Adhering to traffic rules not only prevents fines but also helps reduce accidents and ensures the well-being of all road users.

As the app prepares to expand its range of services, it is expected to become an integral part of the daily lives of citizens across Turkmenistan, making essential services more accessible and promoting safer driving practices.
