Turkmenistan considers the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as an important and promising partner

During the recent Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, emphasized Turkmenistan’s view of the SCO as a significant and promising partner.

Hero-Arkadag stated that Turkmenistan perceives its honorary guest status at SCO meetings as a sign of respect and as an indicator of trust and openness towards the country, demonstrating a desire to develop close partnership ties. Berdimuhamedov noted that cooperation with the SCO is in line with Turkmenistan’s national interests, capable of positively influencing regional processes and contributing to international stabilization.

Hero-Arkadag emphasized the deep historical ties, geographical proximity, and common values and worldview between Turkmenistan and the peoples and states within the SCO, highlighting mutual interests in economy, trade, investment, and technology.
