Turkmenistan weightlifters dominate the stages at the World Junior Championships in Peru

The Junior World Weightlifting Championship is currently taking place in Lima, the capital of Peru, from May 22 to May 26. Around 280 athletes from 50 countries are participating in the tournament, and Turkmenistan has already made a mark for itself.

Ogulshat Amanova, competing in the 49kg weight category, secured three medals – a gold in snatch with a result of 77kg, a bronze in snatch with a result of 91kg, and a silver in the combined event with a total score of 168kg. This is a remarkable achievement for the 16-year-old athlete, who is a student at the 104th secondary school of Ashgabat. Didarbek Jumabaev, competing in the weight category up to 67kg, also exhibited his strength and determination. He secured the fourth place with 372kg in the combined event and won the bronze medal for the 155kg deadlift. Didarbek is a student of the Olympus secondary sports school, and his accomplishments at the World Championships are a source of pride for the entire country.

Turkmenistan’s weightlifters have consistently demonstrated their high level of skill at international competitions, and the Junior World Championship in Peru is no exception.
