Turkmen tennis player Ilima Guseynova won the U-14 regional qualifying tournament in Muscat, Oman. The contest had two parts and people from 13 countries took part in it. About this reported Turkmenistan: Golden age.
Ilima won two first place prizes by herself and two second place prizes playing with Aylar Kakabayeva in two tournaments.
In 2023, Ilima Guseynova had a good year as a student. She kept her title as the champion of Turkmenistan for women in the competitions in Ashgabat, and she also won the country’s Cup again in December. Ilima got second place in the first tournament and third place in the second tournament at the qualifying championship for Central and West Asia U-14 in Isa Town, Bahrain. Also, she won a second-place medal at the Asia U-14 Championship in Bhubaneswar, India.
The Turkmenistan team, led by Igor Zubkov, came in second place overall and can now compete in the Asia U-14 Championship. Iran’s team won, and Yemen’s team came in third place.
Turkmen tennis players are competing in the first international tournament of 2024, called the ITF Asia 14&U Development Championships, in the Central and West Asia region. We are so happy that our team did really well in the start of the new season in this popular sport all over the world.
