Turkmenistan will receive internet traffic from Kazakhstan

On the Turkmen-Kazakh border, it is planned to build a cable border crossing to connect the telecommunications networks of the two countries. A corresponding agreement was signed today in the presence of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the head of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev between the Turkmentelecom and Jusan Mobile. The news was reported by Kazakh media.

The creation of a new linkage will be the next stage in the merger of the telecommunications networks of the two countries. Through it, it is planned to organize Internet traffic on the networks of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Iran, as well as to ensure the transit of traffic from Turkmenistan to Russia, countries of Europe and Southeast Asia

Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation in the telecommunications sector should help improve the region’s position in the world ranking of the telecommunications industry and improve the quality of relevant services.
